COVID-19 may be a global crisis, but it has unique implications for local communities and economies. In this webinar, Emsi economist Dr. Stuart Muller and data scientist Dr. Wayne Gearey discuss both the public health risk factors and economic indicators specific to the six community college regions in Texas.

Combining both a public health lens and labor market insights perspective, Drs. Muller and Gearey will highlight four key factors to consider when assessing the risk of viral spread in your region and the industries and occupations most relevant to Texas community college leaders and students. Areas of employment risk and opportunity, with in each region, are identified based on changes in job posting activity through each phase of the pandemic.

Dr. Muller and Dr. Gearey, whose combined expertise includes data science, epidemiology, and economic consulting for higher education, provide attendees with actionable insight to support strategies for reopening and engaging community members with upskilling and reskilling opportunities.
